The Golden Bough

  • The Golden Bough

  • Sir James Frazer wrote this book towards the end of the nineteenth century. It remains an impressive work in the vein of comparative anthropology.  Though the method of research and conclusions are discredited, the work is still compendious. It was originally published as an enormous twelve-volume work, which described myths, customs and rites from around the world. It is now more normally read as an abridgement.
